# Your Ash number

> Request a number so Ash can answer the phone, track its status, and keep using your usual number.

Ash answers calls on a number we give you. You request it from the dashboard, and we turn it on in **one or two days**.

## Request your number

**1. Open the request**

In **Home → Get started**, tap **Request number** under **Connect voice**. You can also go to **Numbers** and tap **Request a new number**.

**2. Tell us what you need**

Write the country and that it's for calls. For example: *Calls for Monterrey*.

**3. Send the request**

Tap **Send request**. You'll see **Request sent — We'll contact you as soon as it's ready**.

## Track the status

| Where | What you see | What it means |
| - | - | - |
| Home | **Pending · we turn it on** | We got your request. |
| Numbers | **No number assigned** | You don't have a voice number yet. |
| Numbers | **Active** | Ash is answering on that number. |
| Numbers | **Inactive** | The number isn't answering. Message us. |

## Use your usual number

You can forward calls from your current number to your Ash number. You set this up with your phone company, not in Ash. Ash answers every call that rings on its number.
