# Connect your WhatsApp

> Connect your business's WhatsApp Business number. You keep using the app on your phone.

Ash answers from your own WhatsApp Business number. You connect it with your Meta account in about 5 minutes, and you keep using the WhatsApp Business app on your phone.

## Before you connect

* Only the **Owner** or an **Admin** can connect WhatsApp.
* Keep the phone with your business number handy. Meta sends you a code by text or call.
* You need a Facebook account. If your business doesn't have a portfolio on Meta, you create one along the way.

Meta will ask you for:

* Your business name and category.
* Your website (optional).
* The name your customers will see on WhatsApp.
* The number and the verification code.

> Connecting from Ash doesn't skip Meta's reviews. Meta may ask you to verify your number or your business.

## Connect your number

**1. Open the connection**

In **Home → Get started**, tap **Connect WhatsApp**, or in **Integrations** tap **+** on the **WhatsApp** card. A new tab opens.

**2. Log in with your Meta account**

Log in with the Facebook account that manages your business.

**3. Pick your portfolio and your number**

Pick your business's portfolio and the number you want to connect.

**4. Confirm with your phone**

Enter the code Meta sends you. If you use the WhatsApp Business app, Meta asks you to confirm from your phone.

**5. Go back to Ash**

When you're done, you go back to Ash and see the result.

## What you see when you come back

| Screen | What it means | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| **Connecting your WhatsApp…** | Meta is confirming your number. | Wait a few seconds. |
| **WhatsApp connected** | Ash is now answering on your number. | Tap **Go to Home**. |
| **Still waiting on Meta** | Meta hasn't confirmed yet. | Tap **Go to Integrations** and check again in a few minutes. |
| **Couldn't connect** | Something went wrong on Meta's side. | Tap **Go to Integrations** and try again. [See troubleshooting →](/en/whatsapp/problemas.md) |

In **Integrations**, the **WhatsApp** card says **Ash answers on** your number, with a green check mark.

If the connection page doesn't open, allow pop-ups for app.agentash.ai and turn off ad blockers.
