Your number is a team number

Ash recognizes the numbers in Team, yours included, as part of your business. If you message it on WhatsApp from one of them, it answers as your internal assistant: summaries, escalations, what do you want to know today? That’s not a bug. It’s how your team talks to Ash. To test it as a customer, use the Test Ash as a customer switch.

Test Ash as a customer on WhatsApp

1

Turn on the switch

In Team, on your row, turn on the switch in the Test as customer column. Test mode appears next to your phone number.
2

Message it as a customer

From your phone, message your business number on WhatsApp the way a customer would.
3

Turn it off when you're done

Turn the switch off. You’re part of the team again.
You can also turn it on when you create your account: in Your contact info, turn on Test Ash as a customer. Turn it off later in Team.
  • The switch is only on your own row.
  • Your number doesn’t change: your team and your customers still see it the same way.
  • The first message with the switch on creates a new customer in Conversations.

Test Ash on a call

  • From your phone: call your Ash number. On calls, Ash always answers you as a customer, with nothing to turn on.
  • From your browser: in Context → Test it, tap Start and talk to Ash as a customer. When you hang up, you get a review of what it did well, what it’s missing, and the questions it couldn’t answer. See how →
